On 30January 2017, the Council published its Main Issues Report (MIR) as part of the preparation of a second local development plan (LDP) for North Ayrshire. 　
The MIR and its accompanying Interim Environmental Report are available to view at
http://www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/localplans. Paper copies of the MIR are also available at all public libraries in North Ayrshire and at Cunninghame House, Irvine.　
The MIR sets out options for change on key areas of planning policy, and is intended to generate discussion on the key planning issues in North Ayrshire, including potential new development locations. Consultation responses to the MIR will assist us in preparing a Proposed LDP, which will set out the Council’s position on the matters included in the MIR. The Proposed LDP is intended to be published in December 2017.　
As part of the consultation we will be hosting a series of exhibition events in North Ayrshire. Further details of the dates, times and locations of events will be publicised on the Council website, as above, and through Twitter @North_Ayrshire　
The consultation on the MIR and Interim Environmental Report runs between 30/01/17 and 10/03/17. Responses can be submitted to North Ayrshire Council’s Planning Service, within the consultation period, to
LDP@north-ayrshire.gov.uk; members of the public and community groups can also submit responses in writing to Strategic Planning, Cunninghame House, Irvine, KA12 8EE. An online survey can also be submitted by visiting the Council web site, as above.
