Notice is hereby given that the undernoted Community Councils are calling for nominations of persons to stand for election to serve as Community Councillors.
In terms of the Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils in North Ayrshire, candidates for election must be aged over 16 and live within the boundary of the Community Council in question. It should also be noted that Community Councillors serve in a voluntary capacity.
Nomination papers can be obtained from Committee Services, Cunninghame House, Irvine during weekdays from 9am to 4.45pm or by contacting Melanie Anderson, Committee Services Team Leader on 01294 324131 or email melanieanderson@north-ayrshire.gov.uk.
Completed nomination papers must contain the name and address of the person nominated and the names and addresses of two proposers, each of whom should be a local government elector for the area. Each nomination paper must be signed by the person nominated and the two proposers and must be received by the Chief Executive at the above address by 12noon on the due date. In the event of nominations exceeding the number of vacancies to be filled, an Election will be held.

Please note that, at present, there is no active community council in Ardrossan, Beith & District, Dreghorn, Saltcoats, Springside or Stevenston. An initial election will, however, be triggered on receipt by the Council of a letter, signed by 20 local electors, requesting the formation of a community council.
