THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL (LOTHIAN STREET/ESKBANK ROAD, BONNYRIGG)

(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2017

 

TTRO/R 5.4.38

 

The Midlothian Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is that for a temporary period to facilitate SGN mains replacement works, Lothian Street/Eskbank Road, Bonnyrigg will be closed in 2 phases as noted below. The Order which has a maximum duration of 18 months has effect from 1 July 2017 and it is expected that the work will take about 8 weeks in total to complete.

 

  • Phase 1- Lothian Street will be closed from its junction with High Street to its junction with Raes Gardens. This work is expected to take 4 weeks from 01/07/17. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Diversion for general vehicular traffic will be via B6392 Bonnyrigg Distributor Road/A7 or A786 Melville Dykes Road/A7. There will be local diversions in place for roads closed at junction to Lothian Street (Douglas Gardens, Quarryfoot Gardens, Maryfield Place).

 

  • Phase 2 – Lothian Street from its junction with Raes Gardens to its junction with Eldindean Road then onto Eskbank Road from its junction with Eldindean Road to its junction with Viewbank Avenue, eastbound only. There will be a one-way system for westbound traffic. This work is expected to take about 4 weeks from 29/07/17. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Diversion for general vehicular traffic will be via B6392 Bonnyrigg Distributor Road/A7 or A786 Melville Dykes Road/A7.
