On 12/07/16 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, which will make it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on the lengths of roads listed below (except for emergency services and East Ayrshire Council’s designated contractors engaged in the reconstruction and resurfacing works in the vicinity of Moorfield roundabout, Kilmarnock), by reason of works to be executed on or near the road.

The roads listed below will be closed in various phases and contraflows will be in operation on the A71 approaches to Moorfield roundabout which will cause delays.

Lengths of roads to be closed

B7064 – from A759 to Moorfield roundabout;

B7064 – from Moorfield roundabout to the roundabout at Moorfield North Industrial Park;

A71 including A71 exit slip road onto Campbell St (closed to eastbound traffic) – from the common boundary of North Ayrshire and East Ayrshire to Bellfield Interchange and B7064 – from Moorfield roundabout to the roundabout at Moorfield North Industrial Park;

A71 including A71 entry slip road from Campbell St roundabout (closed to westbound traffic) – from Bellfield Interchange to the common boundary of North Ayrshire and East Ayrshire and B7064 – from A759 to Moorfield roundabout.

Although every effort will be made to avoid the closure of both lengths of the B7064 it may become necessary.

Signs will be erected on site to relay the times and date of the phased road closures and multiple diversion routes will be signed accordingly.

The Order is in force from 00:01 hrs on 25/07/16 until 18:00 hrs on 05/09/16, or until the works are completed whichever is earlier and the Order will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure period.
