On 31/1/17 the Council made the DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (KING STREET AND COWGATE, DUNDEE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2017 under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will prohibit temporarily all vehicular traffic (1) King St between East Marketgait and St Andrews St and (2) Cowgate between Queen St and St Andrews St. The Order is operative for 4 weeks from 6/2/17 for gas service connection works, with a maximum duration of 18 months. The one way traffic orders relating to Cowgate/Sugarhouse Wynd and Queen St will be rescinded for the duration of the works. The works will be carried out in 2 phases with each phase estimated to last 2 weeks. Alternative routes: (1) eastbound via St Andrews St, Seagate, East Port roundabout, Blackscroft and Lower Princes St and westbound via East Marketgait, East Port roundabout, Seagate and St Andrews St and (2) Seagate and St Andrews St.
