Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order is to impose a temporary prohibition of driving on Wellington Road, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Craiginches Roundabout and Polwarth Road, from 19:00 on 25 July, 2017, until 06:00 on 26 July, 2017. The existing one-way system on Walker Place, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Walker Road and Menzies Road, will be suspended for buses only. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the following roads from 16:00 on 25 July, 2017, until 06:00 on 26 July, 2017; on the south west side of Walker Place, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Walker Road and Menzies Road; on the south east side of Walker Road, Aberdeen, from opposite the gable end of number 80 Walker Road to the Walker Road School car park entrance; on the south east side of Walker Road, Aberdeen, from the boundary between numbers 67 and 69 Walker Road, to street lighting pole 15 in front of number 73 Walker Road; on the south east side of Walker Road, Aberdeen, from the boundary between numbers 79 and 81 Walker Road, to the boundary between numbers 83 and 85 Walker Road; on the west side of Walker Road, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Grampian Place and Polwarth Road; and on the south side of Polwarth Road, Aberdeen, from lighting pole number 5 to the boundary between numbers 22-24 Polwarth Road and numbers 26-28 Polwarth Road. Illegally parked vehicles will be removed at the owners expense. The parking restrictions are necessary to allow buses to manoeuvre a diversion route. There will be a prohibition of driving on Grampian Place, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Wellington Road and Walker Road, from 19:00 on 14 July, 2017, until 06:00 on 21 August, 2017. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the same stretch of road, which will be demarcated by the use of no-waiting cones. Access to properties will be maintained, but no through traffic will be possible. The restrictions are in the interests of public safety during sewer connection works for a new development. An alternative route is available via West Tullos Road, King George VI Bridge, and Riverside Drive. An alternative route for vehicles over 4m in height is available via West Tullos Road, King George VI Bridge, Riverside Place, Holburn Street, South Anderson Drive, Anderson Drive, North Anderson Drive, Westburn Road, Hutcheon Street, Mounthooly, West North Street, East North Street, Commercial Street, Virginia Street, Trinity Quay, and Market Street. For Grampian Place an alternative route is available via Wellington Road, Polwarth Road, and Walker Road.
