THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL

(PEEBLES MARCH RIDERS ASSOCIATION – MAY RIDE)

(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2024

The Scottish Borders Council have made the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended with the consent of Scottish Ministers under Section 16B(6)(b) of the said Act. The Order, which has a maximum duration of one day, will come into force at 10:00 on 12 May 2024 and is expected to remain in effect until 16:30. The Order is required to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, being the Peebles March Riders Association May Ride.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive, or cause, or permit to be driven any vehicle along those lengths of road in Peebles on 12 May 2024 at the times specified in the Schedule below.

These closures will come into effect only at such times as instructed by a Police Officer in uniform and/or appropriate traffic signs are displayed on the affected lengths of road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.

From 10:00 to 11:00

Venlaw Road – from Eastgate Car Park to Eastgate

Eastgate – from Venlaw Road to High Street

High Street – from Venlaw Road to Tweed Bridge

Tweed Bridge – from High Street Caledonian Road

Caledonian Road – from Tweed Bridge to Edderston Road

Edderston Road – from Caledonian Road to its termination

From 11:00 to 12:30

A72 – from 200 metres east of its junction with the B712 to a point 100 metres east of Lyne Station

C10 – from its junction with the A72 to Manor Bridge

From 16:00 to 16:30

D68/1 – at Standalane

Rosetta Road – from the unclassified road for Standalane to March Street

March Street – from Rosetta Road to Montgomery Place

Montgomery Place – from March Street to Elcho Street Brae

Elcho Street Brae – from Montgomery Place to Old Town

Old Town – from Elcho Street Brae to Cuddy Bridge

Cuddy Bridge – from Old Town to High Street

High Street – from Cuddy Bridge to Eastgate
