THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL

(BORDER COUNTIES RALLY)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024

The Scottish Borders Council have made the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, with the consent of Scottish Ministers under Section 16B(6)(b) of the said Act. The Order, which has a maximum duration of two days, will come into force at 17:00 on 10 May 2024 and is expected to remain in effect until 22:00 on 11 May 2024. The Order is required to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, being the Border Counties Rally 2024. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall:

  1. (i) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle, and (ii) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked, in the Waverley Car Park and Mart Road Car Park, Newtown St Boswells between the hours of 17:00 on 13 May and 20:00 on 11 May 2024; and

  2. drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Abbey Place and Abbey Bridge End, Jedburgh from the junction with Castlegate to the junction with the A68 between the hours of 07:00 and 22:00 on 11 May 2024. The alternative route for southbound traffic is north on Castlegate, east on Canongate, south on the A68 and north on Abbey Bridge End to the point of closure, for northbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing;

  3. (i) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle, and (ii) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked, in the Murray’s Green Car Park, Abbey Place, and the Lothian Park Car Park, Jedburgh between the hours of 07:00 and 22:00 on 11 May 2024.
