THE FALKIRK COUNCIL (ETNA ROAD, FALKIRK/WEST MAINS ROAD, GRANGEMOUTH) (SPECIAL EVENT)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (TTRO/2518) ORDER 2024

Falkirk Council make the following Order, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2(1), 2(2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other powers enabling them to do so.

In accordance with Section 16A(2) of the 1984 Act, Falkirk Council are satisfied that waiting on the length(s) of road specified in the Schedule to this Order should be prohibited to facilitate the holding of a special event and enable members of the public to watch the event.

In accordance with Section 16A (3) of the 1984 Act, Falkirk Council are satisfied that it is not reasonably practicable for the event to be held otherwise than on that length(s) of road.

In accordance with Section 16A (8) of the 1984 Act, Falkirk Council have had regard to the safety and convenience of alternative routes suitable for the traffic which will be affected by this Order.

Citation, commencement and cessation

1. This Order may be cited as “The Falkirk Council (Etna Road, Falkirk/West Mains Road, Grangemouth) (Special Event) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting) (TTRO/2518) Order 2024" and shall come into force at 17:00 on 26/04/24 until 08:00 on 28/04/24.

2. Subject to article 4, no person shall wait, or permit to wait, any vehicle on the length(s) of road and during the period(s) specified in the Schedule when a prohibition is identified as applying to a part or parts of that length(s) of road by Police Officers in uniform or traffic signs prescribed in the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

Exemption for emergency and works vehicles

2. This Order does not apply to a vehicle while used in an emergency for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service; Maritime and Coastguard Agency; Scottish Ambulance Service; or Police Scotland purposes; or an official vehicle whilst being used in connection with the holding of the special event.
