(Temporary Road Closure) Notice 2024

NOTICE is hereby given under Section 14(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers which will close the following lengths of road to allow Carriageway resurfacing, anti skid material and white lining works

Name of road -  B743 Main Street,U749, Sorn,

B743 (Primary Route) from its junction with the U749 in Sorn until the junction of the B743 with the B7037 Galston Road. 

U749 (Secondary Route) from its junction with the B743 in Sorn and over Old Sorn Bridge only. 

Nature and period of restriction - Road closure

This Notice commences on 27 April 2024 and has a maximum duration of 5 days or until the works are completed, whichever is sooner. The works are expected to commence from 27 April 2024 at 08:00 until 28 April 2024 at 18:00.

The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.

Access  for Emergency Services residents and deliveries will be maintained via diversion routes 

Alternative route - Primary Route From the Junction of the B743 Main Street Sorn, with the B713 in Sorn onto Catrine. Turn right from the B713 onto the B705 into Catrine then turn left back onto the B713 in Catrine and follow this road until its Junction with the A76 Trunk Road. Turn right from the B713 onto the A76 and into Mauchline. In Mauchline turn right at the Cross back onto the B743 and Follow the B743 until its junction with the B7037 Galston Road and vice versa.

Secondary Route- U749 closure, from junction of U749 with B743 to junction of B743 Main Street Sorn with B713 Catrine Road, turn right onto B713 to Catrine and proceed on B713 until its junction with U749 where access to properties on the U749 will be maintained.
