(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024

On 2nd April 2024 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, to allow Bridge Repairs on behalf of Amey OW Limited 

Temporary Road Closure – U63 Whatriggs Road, Kilmarnock - Bellfield, 

Whatriggs Road Overbridge  Length of road to be closed 110m. 

The Order commences on 21 April 2024 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier. The works are expected to commence from 21 April 2024 at 18:00 with the closure remaining in place until 26 May 2024 at 18:00.

The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed. 

Access for Emergency Services, residents and  deliveries will be maintained via diversion route .

From East approach to bridge diverted traffic shall: -Follow U63 to A76, taking left toward Bellfield Interchange - At Bellfield Interchange, traffic shall take 3rd exit onto Queens Drive. - At roundabout traffic will take 1st exit onto B7072 Hurlford Road - After approx. 1 mile traffic will take left onto New Street. - Traffic will follow New Street onto  Whatriggs Road. - After approx. 0.5 miles traffic will take 2nd exit at roundabout onto Merrick Road. - Follow Merrick Road before taking left onto Lammermuir Road - At roundabout traffic will take second exit onto Whatriggs Road For traffic on West approach traffic will do the above route in reverse.
