South Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
This Order may be cited as “South Lanarkshire Council, A71 Stonehouse Road, Strathaven, Temporary Road Closure Order No. 1 2021” and shall come into operation between midnight 23 October 2021 to 2359 hours 24 October 2021. The restrictions will be applied on site by the display of traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Whilst this order remains in force no person shall park, drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on the sections of road specified in Schedule 1 by reason of carriageway maintenance or emergency vehicles
Schedule 1 – A71 Stonehouse Road, Strathaven
A71 Stonehouse Road will be closed between Humbie House, No 326 Stonehouse Road and Laigh Netherfield Farm, Stonehouse Road.
Alternative Route
Traffic will be diverted via A71 to Cornsilloch Brae, A72 to Hamilton, A723 to Strathaven, A71 Kirk Street/Stonehouse Road and vice versa.
