South Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
This Order may be cited as “South Lanarkshire Council, A723 Strathaven to Hamilton and Hamilton Road, Strathaven, Temporary Road Closure Order No. 1 2021” and shall come into operation between 0001 hours 9 October 2021 to 2359 hours 17 October 2021. The restrictions will be applied on site by the display of traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Whilst this order remains in force no person shall park, drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on the sections of road specified in Schedule 1 and 2 by reason of resurfacing works or emergency vehicles
Schedule 1 – A723 Strathaven to Hamilton, Strathaven will be closed between Whiteshawgate Highway and Hamilton Road.
Schedule 2 – A723 Hamilton Road, Strathaven will be closed between A723 Strathaven to Hamilton and Commercial Road.
Alternative Route – traffic will be diverted via A723 to Hamilton, A72 to Cornsilloch Brae, A71 to Strathaven and vice versa.
