South Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 88 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-

This Order may be cited as “South Lanarkshire Council, A721 Elsrickle, Temporary Speed Restriction Order 2021” and shall come into operation at 0800 hours on Monday 7/06/2021 and will remain in operation until Friday 25/02/2022. The restrictions will be applied on site by the display of traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

Whilst this Order remains in force no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20mph on the sections of roads specified in Schedule 1 by reason of road safety. The speed restriction will only apply on the section of the A721 where works are taking place. The works location will be highlighted by the erection of temporary traffic lights and speed limit signs.

Schedule 1 - Temporary Speed Restriction – 20mph on A721 from Carnwath to A702 Melbourne near Elsrickle

1) A721 Southeast from the junction of Mill Road to the junction of Coldpots Road - approximately 1550m.

2) A721 Northeast from the junction of Coldpots Road to Howburn Farm – approximately 2100m.
