On 6 January 2021 South Lanarkshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform, to cause or permit any vehicle to drive at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour on the lengths of roads detailed below:-
Clyde Street, Carluke, both directions – From the extended west kerbline of Kirkton Street, westwards for a distance of 106 metres or thereby.
Hamilton Street, Carluke, both directions – From a point 18 metres north-east of the extended north-east kerbline of Park Street, north-eastwards to its junction with High Street, a distance of 88 metres or thereby. High Street, Carluke, both directions – Full length, a distance of 204 metres or thereby.
Kirkton Street, Carluke, both directions – From the extended south kerbline of Clyde Street, southwards for a distance of 114 metres or thereby.
Link Road between Stewarts Street and Mount Stewart Street, Carluke, both directions – Full length, a distance of 10 metres or thereby.
Market Place, Carluke, both directions – Full length, a distance of 194 metres or thereby. Market Road, Carluke, both directions – From the extended north-east kerbline of Market Place, northeastwards for a distance of 25 metres or thereby.
Mount Stewart Street, Carluke, both directions – From the extended west kerbline of Stewart Street, northwestwards for a distance of 111 metres or thereby.
Stewart Street, Carluke, both directions – From the extended south kerbline of Clyde Street, northwards for a distance of 158 metres or thereby.
This Order has been made because of the likelihood of danger to the public, i.e. for reasons of road safety. The Order came into operation at 0001 hours on 3 February 2021 and will remain in operation until 2400 hours on 3 August 2022.
