On 6 January 2021 South Lanarkshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform, to cause or permit any vehicle to drive at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour on the lengths of roads detailed below:-

Bellshill Road, Uddingston, both directions – from the extended east kerbline of Main Street, eastwards for a distance of 35 metres or thereby.

Bellshill Road, Uddingston, both directions – from the extended west kerbline of Main Street, westwards for a distance of 24 metres or thereby.

Church Street, Uddingston, both directions – from the extended west kerbline of Main Street, westwards for a distance of 36 metres or thereby.

Gardenside Street, Uddingston, both directions – from the extended west kerbline of Main Street, westwards for a distance of 10 metres or thereby.

Lower Millgate, Uddingston, both directions – from the extended east kerbline of Main Street, eastwards for a distance of 32 metres or thereby.

Main Street, Uddingston, both directions – from a point 63 metres north-west of the extended north kerbline of Gardenside Street, south-eastwards and southwards to a point 78 metres south of the extended south kerbline of Bellshill Road, a distance of 575 metres or thereby.

The Cut, Uddingston, both directions – from the extended east kerbline of Main Street, eastwards for a distance of 34 metres or thereby. This Order has been made because of the likelihood of danger to the public, i.e. for reasons of road safety.

The Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on 3 February 2021 and will remain in operation until 2400 hours on 3 August 2022.
