Notice is hereby given that South Lanarkshire Council propose to make an Order under section 68(1) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 stopping up the road described in Part 1 of the Schedule below.
The title of the Order is “The South Lanarkshire Council (Footpath from Flakefield to Queensway, East Kilbride) (Stopping Up) Order 2019.”
A copy of the proposed Order and of the accompanying plan showing the stopping up of the road together with a statement of the reasons for making the Order are available for inspection on the councils website and during normal working hours Monday to Friday inclusive at the offices of:-

Part I - Road to be stopped up
That section of road forming the remote footpath and stairs, from a point 58 metres south-west of the extended south-west kerbline of Kirktonholme Road, East Kilbride, extending in a south-westerly direction and down the stairs to the heel of the kerb of Queensway, East Kilbride, a distance of 150 metres, or thereby.
Part II - Alternative Roads
That section of road forming the footpath from Flakefield, north-eastwards into Kirktonholme Road, then southwards towards Queensway, then westwards, a distance of 448 metres, or thereby.
That section of road forming the footpath from Flakefield, north-eastwards into Kirktonholme Road, then northwards to Lithgow Place, then south-westwards towards Westmains Road, then southwards to Queensway, then eastwards, a distance of 535 metres, or thereby.
