Temporary 30mph Speed Limit Order 2019

On 28 January 2019 South Lanarkshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform, to cause or permit any vehicle to drive at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour on that length of A726 Strathaven Road, East Kilbride- from a point 308 metres northwest of the northwest kerb line of High Common Road southwards to a point 230 metres south of the extended south kerb line of Greenhills Road, a distance of 1880 metres; and Greenhills Road, East Kilbride- from its junction with the A726 Strathaven Road westwards to the extended east kerb line of Quarry Road/Auldhouse Road, a distance of 2060 metres, when appropriate road signs as prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 are displayed. This Order has been made because of the likelihood of danger to the public, i.e. for reasons of road safety.

The Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on 25 February 2019 and will remain in operation until 2400 hours on 25 August 2020.
