Notice is given that South Lanarkshire Council has decided to adopt the South Lanarkshire Local Development Plan 2, as modified following receipt of the Report of Examination from Scottish Ministers. Adoption will be on or after, 28 days from 18 February 2021 unless Scottish Ministers direct that the plan shall not be adopted until further notice or shall not have effect unless approved by them. Once adopted, the Plan is then subject to a six-week period where it can be judicially challenged.

The Council has notified all those individuals and organisations who submitted representations at proposed plan stage that the Council intends to adopt the Plan.

On adoption, South Lanarkshire Local Development Plan 2 will replace the South Lanarkshire Local Development Plan (2015) and the South Lanarkshire Minerals Local Development Plan (2012) and will form the development plan for South Lanarkshire alongside the Strategic Development Plan: Clydeplan 2017 South Lanarkshire Local Development Plan 2 can be accessed through the Council’s web site at www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk and follow the links through to South Lanarkshire Local Development Plan 2.

All relevant documents will be available to inspect free of charge in Libraries and at Montrose House, 154 Montrose Crescent, Hamilton ML3 6LB once the Covid-19 restrictions in place for these venues have been lifted by the Scottish Government.
