On 26th October 2023 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 62 of the Road (Scotland) 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (South Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012 and the Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order to allow Ayr Christmas Event
Road Closure – High Street, Newmarket Street from Ayr High Street from the junction with Alloway Street / Kyle Street, northwards to the junction with New Bridge Street / Sandgate.

No Waiting At Any Time – High Street, Newmarket Street from Ayr High Street from the junction with Alloway Street / Kyle Street, northwards to the junction with New Bridge Street / Sandgate. (both sides)

The Order commences on 19 November 2023 and has a maximum duration of 7days or until the event if finished and the closure can be removed whichever is earlier. Preperations for the event are expected to commence from 19 November 2023 at 11:30 until 19 November 2023 at 17:30.
The days and times of the Event may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order restrictions will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.
Access for Emergency Services and Pedestrians will not be affected.
An alternative will be signed via - Beresford Terrace - Miller Road - Alloway Street - Fort Street - South Harbour Street - New Bridge Street - End
