On 18 August 2022 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 16 A to C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order which will close or restrict the following lengths of road:-


Road Closure – Blackburn Drive – Closed between Blackburnn Road and Esplanade; Esplanade – Closed between Pavillion Road and Blackburn Drive.


Prohibition of Motor Vehicles – Greenfield Avenue - Closure of the westbound carriageway to all vehicles other than pedal cycles between Baird Road and the A719 Doonfoot Road / Dunure Road.


The Order commences on 28 August 2022 and has a maximum duration of 3 days or until the event is finished and the closure can be removed, whichever is earlier. Preparations for the event are expected to commence from 7.00am Sunday 28 August until 4.00pm later that same day.


The times of the event may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.


Access for the Emergency Services and pedestrians will not be affected. Vehicular access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians’ out-with the immediate route area will be maintained whenever possible.


Alternative routes will be signed via as the route progresses with a through route for westbound Greenfield Avenue traffic signed via Monument Road, Racecourse View and Racecourse Road.
