On 9 June 2022 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (South Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012 and the Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order to allow BT Openreach contractors to upgrade the local network.


Road Closure – Merrick Avenue, from junction with Central Avenue, westwards to boundary between Nos.29/31 Merrick Avenue. No Waiting At Any Time – Merrick Avenue, Both sides: From junction with Central Avenue, eastwards to boundary between Nos.5/7 Merrick Avenue. Central Avenue, Both sides: From boundary between Nos.56/58 Central Avenue, northwards to junction with Merrick Avenue.


The Order commences on 20 June 2022 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier. The works are expected to commence from 8:00am Monday 20 June until 6:00pm on Friday 1 July 2022


The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order restrictions will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.


Emergency Services access will not be affected and access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians’ out-with the working zone will be maintained.
An alternative route will be signed via Central Avenue, Lochlea Avenue and Mossgiel Avenue in both directions.
