(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2022

The Scottish Borders Council (St Boswells Fair) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 06:00 on 14 July 2022 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 19 July 2022 - 24 hour restrictions. The Order is required in the interests of public safety due to increased traffic attending St Boswells Fair.

When the Order comes into effect, in the interests of public safety:

  1. no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along both sides of Main Street, St Boswells from the A68 to Hamilton Place;
  2. a 20mph speed restriction will be in force as follows:
  1. on the A699 St Boswells to Selkirk road from the A68 westwards for 20 metres;
  2. on the A699 St Boswells to Kelso road from the A68 eastwards for 320 metres;
  3. on the A68 from the existing 20mph signs southwards to a point 20 metres south of the Charlesfield Road junction;
  1. a 40mph speed restriction will be in force on the A68 from a point 20 metres south of the Charlesfield Road junction to Laretburn Cottages;
  2. a 30mph speed restriction will be in force from 06:00 on 16 July to 18:00 on 17 July 2022 as follows:
  1. on the A699 St Boswells to Selkirk road from a point 20 metres west of the A68 to the B6359; and
  2. on the B6359 Bowden Toll to Lilliesleaf road from the A699 to the 20mph signs at Lilliesleaf.
