(NO WAITING, HIGH STREET, COLDSTREAM)

(EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2022

 

 

The Scottish Borders Council made the above Order on 28 June 2022 in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to said Act and having complied with the statutory requirements of The Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1999, as amended. The Order will be experimental and will remain initially in operation for a period of no less than six months.

The effect of the Order, which comes into operation on 8 July 2022, will be to prohibit (1) waiting at any time, loading and unloading permitted, in a length of High Street and (2) waiting between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays, loading and unloading permitted, in a length of High Street, in Coldstream in the interests of road safety and traffic management.

A copy of the Experimental Order as made, together with a map showing said lengths of road and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the Experimental Order may be examined at Traffic and Road Safety, Network, Environment and Infrastructure, The Scottish Borders Council, Newtown St Boswells, Melrose, from Mondays to Thursdays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and also at the Council’s Library Contact Centre, Gateway Centre, High Street, Coldstream TD12 4AE during normal opening hours.

The Scottish Borders Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Experimental Order should be made permanent. Any person wishing to object to the making of a permanent Order should send details of the grounds of objection in writing to the Director of Finance & Corporate Governance, Council Headquarters, Newtown St Boswells, Melrose, TD6 0SA by 8 January 2023
