(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2022

The Scottish Borders Council (Commercial Road, Hawick) (Temporary Closing) Order 2022 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 06:00 on 18 April 2022 and is expected to remain in effect until 23:00 on 21 October 2022 – 24 hour closure. The Order is required for Hawick Flood Protection Scheme works.

When the Order comes into effect, no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Commercial Road, Hawick from the entrance to Sainsbury’s supermarket car park to Wilton Lane. The alternative route for southbound traffic is via Mart Street, Bourtree Place, High Street, Tower Knowe, Sandbed, Albert Road and Commercial Road to the point of closure. For northbound traffic via Commercial Road, Albert Road, Wilton Path, Princes Street and the A7 to the point of closure.
