SPACES FOR PEOPLE
TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION ORDERS
At the request of The Scottish Borders Council, Scottish Ministers have issued Directions under Section 15(3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 extending the Temporary Speed Restriction Orders made by The Scottish Borders Council under the Scottish Government Spaces for People initiative. This initiative enabled The Scottish Borders Council to introduce temporary speed restrictions in towns and villages in the Scottish Borders to enhance road safety for cyclists and walkers. These Orders have been extended for a period of six months to enable The Scottish Borders Council to make the temporary Orders (or part thereof) permanent.
A list of the affected Orders, commencement dates, expiry dates and amended expiry dates are detailed in the Schedule below.
