(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2021

The Scottish Borders Council (Mansfield Road, Hawick) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2021 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 06:00 on 4 January 2021 and is expected to remain in effect until 3 November 2022 as detailed below. The Order is required to permit Hawick Flood Protection Scheme works to be carried out.

When the Order comes into effect:

  1. no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on both sides of Mansfield Road, Hawick:
  1. Work Section 9: from Mansfield Crescent to the Leisure Centre entrance; and
  2. Work Section 10: from Mansfield Crescent to Mansfield Gardens. This no waiting restriction will only be in effect when appropriate traffic signs are displayed on the affected length of road,

from 4 January to 20 June 2022;

  1. Work Section 10: a One Way Order in a westerly direction will be in force on Mansfield Road, Hawick from Mansfield Gardens to Mansfield Crescent from 4 January to 20 June 2022. No person shall drive in an easterly direction. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Mansfield Crescent, Mansfield Park and Mansfield Gardens;
  2. Work Section 29: a One Way Order in an easterly direction will be in force on Duke Street, Hawick from Mart Street to Noble Place from 06:00 on 4 January to 18:00 on 22 April 2022. No person shall drive in a westerly direction; and
  3. Work Section 11: no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on both sides of Mansfield Road, Hawick from Mansfield Gardens to Mansfield Roundabout from 23 June to 3 November 2022. This no waiting restriction will only be in effect when appropriate traffic signs are displayed on the affected length of road,
