THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL

(SELKIRK CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2021

 

The Scottish Borders Council are making the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, with the consent of Scottish Ministers under Section 16B(6)(b) of the said Act. The Order, which has a maximum duration of two days, will come into force at 19:00 on 3 December 2021 and is expected to remain in effect until 19:30 on 4 December 2021. The Order is required to facilitate the holding of a relevant event being Selkirk Christmas Lights Switch On 2021. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall:

(a)   drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along High Street, Selkirk from its junction with the A7 to its junction with Back Row. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is south along Tower Street and east along Back Row to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the above in reverse.

(b)   permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along the following roads in Selkirk:

       (i)    High Street - from its junction with the A7 to Back Row; and

       (ii)   Tower Street - east side for a distance of 20 metres on either side of the Lower Back Row junction.
