(TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2020

 

The Scottish Borders Council (Bonnington Road, Peebles) (Temporary Speed Restriction) Order 2020 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 5 January 2021 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of eighteen months – 24 hour restriction. The Order is required to ensure a safe working environment while major Scottish Water works are taking place in the vicinity.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Bonnington Road, Peebles as follows:

  1. at a speed exceeding 20mph from the existing national speed limit signage southwards for 810 metres; and
  2. at a speed exceeding 40mph from the signage for the 20mph temporary speed restriction detailed at (a) above southwards for 3254 metres.
