(SPROUSTON ROAD & GLENBURN AVENUE, NEWTOWN ST BOSWELLS)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2020

The Scottish Borders Council (Sprouston Road & Glenburn Avenue, Newtown St Boswells) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2020 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 28 September 2020 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 26 October 2020 – 24 hour closure. The Order is required for drainage works.

When the Order comes into effect, no person shall (I) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle or (II) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along Sprouston Road and Glenburn Avenue, Newtown St Boswells as follows:

(a)     Road Closures: Sprouston Road:

         (i)    Phase 1 – from the B6340 to Park Crescent from 08:00 on 28 September 2020 to 08:00 on 5 October 2020;

         (ii)   Phase 2 – from Park Crescent to Park Avenue from 08:00 on 5 October 2020 to 08:00 on 12 October 2020;

         (iii)  Phase 3 – from Park Avenue to Glenburn Avenue from 08:00 on 12 October 2020 to 08:00 on 19 October 2020;

(b)     Road Closure - Glenburn Avenue:

         Phase 4 – from Sprouston Road to Park Crescent from 08:00 on 19 October 2020 to 17:00 on 26 October 2020; and

(c)     No Waiting – Glenburn Avenue:

(i)   will be prohibited on Glenburn Avenue from 28 September 2020 to 26 October 2020 between the hours of 08:00 and18:00 each day.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the B6340, Bowden Road, Glenburn Avenue and Sprouston Road to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained with minor delays.
