(TEMPORARY WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2020

The Scottish Borders Council (B6368 Gilston Road) (Temporary Weight Restriction) Order 2020 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 00:01 on 28 August 2020 and is expected to remain in effect until 24:00 on 28 February 2021 – 24 hour restriction. The Order is required for safety reasons due to the closure of the A68.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle exceeding 7.5T MGW along the B6368 Gilston Road from its junction with the A68 to its junction with the A7.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the A7, A6091 and A68 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing. Local access will be maintained.
