(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2020

 

The Scottish Borders Council (D79/4 and Race Course Road, Kelso) (Temporary Closing) Order 2020 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 17 August 2020 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 26 August 2020 – 24 hour closure, as detailed below. The Order is required for installation of new BT Openreach ducting.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the D79/4 and Race Course Road, Kelso as follows:

(a)   Closure 1: Race Course Road from the A6089 to the D79/4. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the A6089, Angraflat Road and the D79/4 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing;

(b)   Closure 2: the D79/4 from Race Course Road to the Berryhill junction. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the D79/4, Golf Course Road, the B6361 and D79/4 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and

(c)   Closure 3: the D79/4 Berryhill Road. There is no alternative route.

Closure 1 will commence on 17 August 2020 with Closures 2 and 3 following on after completion.
