(C8 MEGGETHEAD)

(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2020

The Scottish Borders Council (C8 Meggethead) (Temporary Closing) Order 2020 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 30 March 2020 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 10 April 2020 – 24 hour closure. The Order is required to permit safe construction of a telecoms mast.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the C8 Meggethead to Tweedsmuir Road at Meggethead.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the C8, A701, A708 and C8 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained with minor delays.
