(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2020

 

The Scottish Borders Council (Princes Street, Hawick) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2020 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 27 January 2020 and is expected to remain in effect until 29 February 2020 - 24 hour closure. The Order is required for Hawick Flood Protection Scheme accommodation works.

When the Order comes into effect:

(a)   no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Princes Street, Hawick from the A7 westwards for 35 metres. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Princes Street, Wilton Path, Albert Road, Commercial Road and Dovemount Place to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and

(b)   the Scottish Borders Council (The Borders Regional Council (Various Streets, Hawick) (Regulation of Traffic) Order 1988 as amended, will be further amended as follows: the No Waiting restriction on the south side of Princes Street, Hawick will be revoked from Dickson Street eastwards for 80 metres for the duration of this Order.
