(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) NO 2 ORDER 2019

 

The Scottish Borders Council (Princes Street, Hawick) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) No 2 Order 2019 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 2 December 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 31 January 2010 - 24 hour restriction, as detailed below. The Order is required for Hawick Flood Protection Scheme accommodation works.

When the Order comes into effect, from 08:00 on 2 December 2019 to 17:00 on 21 December 2019 and from 08:00 on 6 January 2020 to 17:00 on 31 January 2020:

(a)   no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Princes Street, Hawick from the A7 westwards for a distance of 35 metres. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Princes Street, Wilton Path, Albert Road, Commercial Road and Dovemount Place, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and

(b)   The Scottish Borders Council (The Borders Regional Council (Various Streets, Hawick) (Regulation of Traffic) Order 1988 as amended will be further amended as follows: the No Waiting restriction on the south side of Princes Street from Dickson Street eastwards for a distance of 80 metres, will be revoked for the duration of the closures.
