(A701 TWEEDSMUIR TO THE DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY BORDER)

(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2019

 

The Scottish Borders Council (A701 Tweedsmuir to the Dumfries and Galloway Border) (Temporary Closing) Order 2019 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 18 November 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 13 December 2019 between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 on weekdays only. The road will be open over the weekends of 23 and 24 November, 30 November to 2 December and 7 and 8 December 2019. The Order is required for patching works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the A701 from Tweedsmuir to the Dumfries and Galloway Border.

The alternative route for southbound traffic is via the A701, A72, A702, B7076 and A701 to the point of closure, for northbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained with minor delays.
