(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019

 

The Scottish Borders Council (Duke Street, Hawick) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2019 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 20 November 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 22 November 2019 – 24 hour restriction. The Order is required for tree removal works.

When the Order comes into effect:

(a)   no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Duke Street from Earl Street to Noble Place from 08:00 on 20 November 2019 to 17:00 on 21 November 2019. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Earl Street, Arthur Street and Noble Place to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing;

(b)   no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked:

(i)    on Duke Street from Earl Street to Noble Place from 08:00 on 20 November to 17:00 on 22 November 2019; and

(ii)   on the north side of Duke Street, from Mart Street to Earl Street on 22 November and 25 November 2019 between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 each day;

(c)   a One Way Order in a westerly direction will be in force on Duke Street from Mart Street to Earl Street on 22 and 25 November 2019. No person shall drive in an easterly direction. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Mart Street, Weensland Road, Trinity Street and Earl Street to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing
