(B709 GLENLUDE TO TUSHIELAW)

(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2019

 

The Scottish Borders Council (B709 Glenlude to Tushielaw) (Temporary Closing) Order 2019 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 21 October 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 24 October 2019 between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 each day. The Order is required for resurfacing works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the B709 as follows:

(a)   Closure 1 – from Glenlude to the A708 at the Gordon Arms Hotel from 21 October to 23 October 2019. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the A708, A707, A72 and B709 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and

(b)   Closure 2 – from the A708 at the Gordon Arms Hotel to the B7009 at Tushielaw from 23 October to 24 October 2019. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the B7009, B7039 and A708 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Closure 2 will not commence until Closure 1 has been completed.
