(JEDBURGH RUNNING FESTIVAL)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019

 

The Scottish Borders Council are making the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, with the consent of Scottish Ministers under Section 16A(6) and Section 16B(6)(b) of the said Act. The Order, which has a maximum duration of one day, will come into force at 06:00 on 28 October 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 15:00. The closure is required to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, being the Jedburgh Running Festival 2019. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

When the Order comes into effect:

  1. no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along Oxnam Road, Jedburgh from the A68 to Allerton Court between the hours of 06:00 and 15:00;
  2. no person shall drive, or cause, or permit to be driven any vehicle along:
  1. Abbey Place, Jedburgh between the hours of 09:30 and 11:15. An alternative route via the A68 and Canongate will be available between the hours of 09:30 and 10:45;

(ii)   High Street, Jedburgh between the hours of 10:45 and 11:30. No alternative route will be available;

(iii)  A68 Bongate between the hours of 11:00 and 11:30. This closure will come into effect only at such times as instructed by a police officer in uniform and/or appropriate traffic signs are displayed on the affected lengths of road;

  1. that length of the A698 Kalemouth to Bonjedward and A6090 at Bonjedward between the hours of 10:00 and 15:00. The alternative route for westbound traffic is north on the A698 to the Kelso bypass, north on the B6352 by Station Road/The Path to the A699 junction, west on the A699 to the junction with the A68 at St Boswells Green, then south east on the A68 to the junction with the A698 at Bonjedward, for eastbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and
  1. a temporary 30mph speed restriction will be in force along the A68 from Bonjedward to the 30mph signs at the east end of Jedburgh between the hours of 11:00 and 15:00.
