(C34 SAUGHTREE, B6357 & B6399 SANDHOLM AND B6357 SAUGHTREE STATION)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2019
The Scottish Borders Council (C34 Saughtree, B6357 & B6399 Sandholm and B6357 Saughtree Station) (Temporary Closing) Order 2019 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 2 September 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 25 October 2019 between the hours of 08:30 and 16:30, as detailed below. The Order is required for resurfacing works.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the C34, B6357 and B6399 as follows:
(a) the C34 at Saughtree from Monday 2 September to Monday 23 September 2019, excluding weekends. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the C34, B6357, A6088, A68, B6320 and C34 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing;
(b) the B6357 and B6399 (from its junction with the B6357 northwards) at Sandholm from Tuesday 24 September to Friday 27 September 2019. The alternative routes are as follows:
(i) B6357 Closure: northbound via the B6357, A7, Mart Street, A698, A6088 and B6357 to the point of closure, southbound the reverse of the foregoing;
(ii) B6399 Closure: northbound via the B6357, A7 and B6399 to the point of closure, southbound the reverse the foregoing;
(c) the B6357 at Saughtree Station from Monday 30 September to Friday 25 October 2019, excluding weekends. The alternative routes are as follows:
(i) for vehicles 10 tonne and under: southbound via the B6357, A6088, A698, B6399 and B6357 to the point of closure, northbound the reverse of the foregoing.
(ii) for vehicles over 10 tonne: southbound via the B6357, A6088, A698, A7 and B6357 to the point of closure, northbound the reverse of the foregoing.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained with minor delays.
