THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL

(TOUR OF BRITAIN CYCLE RACE)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019

 

The Scottish Borders Council are making the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, with the consent of Scottish Ministers under Section 16A(6) and Section 16B(6)(b) of the said Act. The Order, which has a maximum duration of two days, will come into force at 18:00 on 7 September 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 21:00 on 8 September 2019. The Order is required to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, being the Tour of Britain Cycle Race 2019. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

When the Order comes into effect:

1. no person shall (i) drive, or cause, or permit to be driven any vehicle, or (ii) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked, along those lengths of road on the dates and at the times specified in the Schedule below;
2. the Scottish Borders Council (Various Streets, Kelso) (Traffic Regulation) Order 2006 (as amended) will be further amended as follows: the One Way Order on Union Street, Kelso from Roxburgh Street to Crawford Street will be reversed on 8 September 2019 between the hours of 03:45 and 21:00;
3. a temporary taxi rank will be situated on East Bowmont Street, Kelso in the west half of the layby at Henderson’s Court between the hours of 03:45 and 21:00 on 8 September 2019; and
4. a temporary bus stop will be situated on East Bowmont Street, Kelso in the east half of the layby at Henderson’s Court for westbound buses between the hours of 03:45 and 21:00 on 8 September 2019.
