(BORDER UNION SHOW)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019
The Scottish Borders Council (Border Union Show) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2019 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 06:00 on 26 July 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 20:00 on 29 July 2019 - 24 hour restriction. The Order is required in the interests of public safety due to increased traffic attending the 2019 Border Union Show.
When the Order comes into effect:
(a) from 06:00 on 26 July 2019 to 20:00 on 29 July 2019, the existing 30mph speed limit on the A699 will be extended westwards from Kelso Bridge for a distance of one mile;
(b) from 06:00 on 26 July 2019 to 20:00 on 27 July 2019, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along both sides of:
(i) the A699 from Kelso Bridge to a point 30 metres west of the Friars Haugh access; and
(ii) the B6352 from Kelso Bridge to its junction with Jedburgh Road.
