(SPROUSTON ROAD, NEWTOWN ST BOSWELLS)

(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2019

 

The Scottish Borders Council (Sprouston Road, Newtown St Boswells) (Temporary Closing) Order 2019 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 10 June 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 4 December 2019 - 24 hour closures. The Order is required for installation of a new foul drainage system.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the following streets in Newtown St Boswells:

(a)   Sprouston Road:

       (i)    Phase 1 - from the B6340 to Park Crescent from 10 June for six weeks

       (ii)   Phases 2 and 2a - from Park Crescent to Park Avenue from 15 July for seven weeks

       (iii)  Phase 3 - from Park Avenue to Glenburn Avenue from 26 August for seven weeks; and

(b)   Phase 4 - Glenburn Avenue from Sprouston Road to Park Crescent from 16 October 2019 for seven weeks.

The alternative route for westbound traffic is via Sprouston Road, Glenburn Avenue, Bowden Road, the B6340 and Sprouston Road to the point of closure, for eastbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

A one week overlap has been arranged between each phase to allow for any unforeseen circumstances, however no phases will run concurrently.
