THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL

(ALL UNDER ONE BANNER PARADE)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019

 

The Scottish Borders Council have made the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, with the consent of Scottish Ministers under Section 16B(6)(b) of the said Act. The Order, which has a maximum duration of one day, will come into force at 13:30 on 1 June 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 15:30. The Order is required to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, being the All Under One Banner Parade. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

When the Order comes into effect, no person shall (i) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle; and (ii) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked, along the following streets in Galashiels:

Scott Crescent, Elm Row, Lawyers Brae, Bank Street, High Street

Channel Street, Market Street, Cornmill Square, St John Street, Albert Place

The closures will come into effect only at such times as instructed by a police officer in uniform and/or appropriate traffic signs are displayed on the affected lengths of road.

The no waiting restrictions will come into effect only at such times as appropriate traffic signs are displayed on the affected lengths of road.
