(BORDERS FESTIVALS – MELROSE)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019

 

The Scottish Borders Council are making the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, with the consent of the Scottish Ministers under Sections 16A(6), 16B(1)(b) and 16B(6)(b) of the said Act. The Order which has a maximum duration of six days, shall be in effect on 3 May, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 22 June 2019 as detailed in the Schedule below. The Order is required to facilitate the holding of relevant events, being the Melrose Festival 2019. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

When the Order comes into effect:

1. no person shall (i) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle, or (ii) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked, along those lengths of road on the dates and at the times detailed in the attached Schedule; and
2. a 30mph speed limit will be in force from 18:30 to 19:30 on 17 June 2019 on the A6091 from the Newstead junction to the Melrose roundabout. This restriction will only be in effect when appropriate traffic signs are displayed on the affected length of road; and

(c)   a One Way Order in a westerly direction will be in force from 17:45 to 22:30 on 17 June 2019 on Annay Road, Melrose from its junction with Dean Road, Newstead to its junction with St Mary’s Road, Melrose. No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle in an easterly direction.
