THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL

(HAWICK REIVERS FESTIVAL)

(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2019

 

The Scottish Borders Council have made the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of one day, will come into force at 06:00 on 23 March 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 19:15. The closure is required to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, being the Hawick Reivers Festival.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive, or cause, or permit to be driven any vehicle along the following streets in Hawick:

  1. High Street from O’Connell Street to Towerknowe between the hours of 06:00 and 18:00. The alternative route for westbound traffic is east on O’Connell Street, south on Garfield Street, east on Frank Place, west on Mill Path and west on Slitrig Crescent and the B6399 to the point of closure;
  2. Walters Wynd, Teviot Road, Teviot Crescent, Croft Road, North Bridge Street, Oliver Place, High Street and Round Close between the hours of 10:15 and 11:15. These closures will come into effect only at such times as instructed by a police officer in uniform and/or appropriate traffic signs are displayed on the affected lengths of road; and
  3. Victoria Road between the hours of 18:45 and 19:15. This closure will come into effect only at such times as instructed by a police officer in uniform and/or appropriate traffic signs are displayed on the affected length of road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.
