THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL

(GALASHIELS TRANSPORT INTERCHANGE NO 4)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2016

 

The Scottish Borders Council have made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 5 August 2016 and is expected to remain in effect until 31 July 2017. The Order is required for construction of the new Galashiels Transport Interchange.

When the Order comes into effect:

(a)   No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on the following streets from 00:01 on 5 August 2016 until 31 July 2017:

              Market Street – right hand side of the road from Stirling Street to Gala Water Bridge

              Market Street – left hand side of the road from Anderson Chambers to the rear entrance to Tesco;

(b)   The Scottish Borders Council (The Borders Regional Council) (Various Streets, Galashiels) (Regulation of Traffic) Order 1990 (as amended) will be further amended as follows: the One Way Order on Park Street and Channel Street will be reversed to allow traffic to travel in an easterly direction from 00:01 on 5 August 2016 until 31 July 2017; 

 (c) Temporary Taxi Ranks will be created at the following locations from 00:01 on 5 August 2016 until 31 July 2017:

              Park Street – north side of Gala Water Bridge
