THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL

(OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2012

          Scottish Borders Council have made the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order has a maximum duration of 2 days from 13th to 14th June 2012 and will come into operation during the times specified below. The Order is required to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, being the Olympic Torch Relay.

When this Order comes into effect no person shall drive, or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along those lengths of road as detailed in Schedule 1 to this Order save for any vehicles being used in connection with the Olympic Torch Relay and no person shall park, or cause, or permit to be parked any vehicle along those lengths of road as detailed in Schedule 2 to this Order. Emergency Service vehicle access will be maintained and pedestrian access will be maintained to premises adjoining or adjacent to any road affected by the Order. In addition no person shall drive a vehicle in a northerly direction along that length of road and during the times specified in Schedule 3 below.

SCHEDULE 1 – ROAD CLOSURES

Closure 1 – The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on 14/6/2012 between the hours of 12:00 and 15:30:

• Nether Road – from Dale Street to Tweed Road

• Tweed Road – from Netherdale Brae to the mini roundabout at Winston Road

Alternative Route – Eastbound – via Netherdale Brae, Larchbank Street, Huddersfield Street, Galawater Bridge, Currie Road, Melrose Road and Winston Road to point of closure. Westbound – the above in reverse. Northbound – via Netherdale Brae, Waverley Place and Dale Street to point of closure. Southbound – the above in reverse.     

Closure 2 – Netherdale car park will be closed to vehicular traffic on 13/6/2012 at 20:00 until 15:00 on the 14/6/2012.

Closure 3 – The car parking area at The Square Earlston will be closed to vehicular traffic on 14/6/2012 between the hours of 08:00 and 14:45.

Closure 4 – The car parking area and bus stop in Market Place, Selkirk will be closed to vehicular traffic on Thursday 14/6/2012 between the hours of 08:00 and 14:30.

 

SCHEDULE 2 – NO PARKING

No parking shall be permitted between the hours of 8:00 and 15:00 on 14/6/2012 on the following streets only at such locations as indicated by appropriate traffic signs:-

Eddleston

A703 Eddleston – from Old Edinburgh Rd – Station Rd, Old Manse Rd, Eddleston – from A703 to Station Road, Station Rd, Eddleston – from Old Manse Rd – A703

Peebles
