On 4 March 2019 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on the upgrading of train station works) on Blair Road, Coatbridge from Corsewall Street to Espieside Crescent or thereby by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Alternative routes: Vehicles 15’3” (4.7m) or less should proceed on Blair Road, A89 Bank Street, Glasgow Road, Coatbridge Road, A725 Gartcosh Road and Townhead Road.

Vehicles greater than 15’3” will be diverted via Blair Road, A89 (Bank Street, Glasgow Road, Coatbridge Road), A8 Edinburgh Road, Easterhouse Road, Westerhouse Road, Lochend Road, Gartcosh Road and Townhead Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

The Order, which will be operational only when signage is in place, will come into operation at 2000 hours on Saturdays, until 0800 hours on Sundays, each weekend from 2000 hours Saturday, 23 March 2019 and will remain in operation until 0800 hours on Sunday, 5 May 2019.
