On 17 September 2018 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on carriageway resurfacing works) on Banton Road, Banton from the extended west kerb line of Valleybank, south westwards to the southern boundary of ‘Craigs’ by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Alternative routes: Vehicles on the north side of the closure should proceed via Mill Road, Main Street, Kelvinhead Road, A803 Stirling Road and Banton Road to the end of the diversion.

Vehicles on the south side of the closure should proceed vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Residential access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

The Order, which will only be operational when displayed by signs, will come into operation at 0930 hours on Monday, 1 October 2018 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Sunday, 9 December 2018.
